The Sleepy Squirrel COMING SOON!

O Esquilo Sonolento, or the Sleepy Squirrel, is an old, completely renovated farmhouse in a small quiet hamlet surrounded by nature.  It sits on around 1.5 hectares of land with forest, fields and a stream with a mini waterfall with a little natural dipping pond. This charming house, with the original old stone walls, has a living room with fireplace, a dining room, office area, fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable covered terrace. The two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and, like the living space, have airconditioners for heating and cooling.

The village has a cafe, great for local weekday lunches or a drink or two. There are various walking and biking trails that allow you to explore the area. Dornes, one of the seven wonders of Portugal is nearby. There you can visit the pentagonal tower of the Knights Templar, the 13th century church, swim in the lake or enjoy various nautical activities.

The village of Ferreira do Zêzere is 10 minutes by car. There you can find bakeries, cafes, banks, a clinic,  supermarkets and a post office.

Tomar is a 25 minute drive, and if you'd like to go the coast, it's an hour and 15 minutes to Nazaré.

The closest airport is Lisbon airport, around an hour and a half away.
